Danica Bansie is a Canadian music supervisor & creative consultant.
After spending her formative years traveling the world, in between stints teaching English in China and Taiwan, Danica has amassed over a decade of music industry experience. She currently works as the music supervisor for PIRATE SOUND, a full-service audio house.
With a foundation in music supervision, media and communications, and English Literature, Danica has bopped around the industry, having written about music, photographed gigs, assisted in running a record store, and was the digital marketing lead for a musical instruments retailer based in Canada and Hong Kong.
Exceeding the scope of music supervision, Danica is passionate about the sweet spot where DIY music business meets the music industry at large, championing indie, underrepresented voices. She is a global feminist interested in positively furthering how art can bridge the gap within international connectivity. Everything she does is approached through a playful, intersectional, equitable lens.
Danica is a juror for the Polaris Music Prize; she was a 2024 Grand Jury member advocating for Allison Russell's 'The Returner', and a 2025 Women in Music Canada Honours juror.
She is also a member of the Guild of Music Supervisors, Canada.
